I'm going to miss this area when I move. Every time I walk up here, I feel inspired. The sunlight mixed with the shapes of the architecture...it's just beautiful.

And Nick Adams - a BoCo Alum - stars in it! I get to run to him singing Madonna! Huzzah!
Go Weeeeest! (that's my favorite song)

He was adorable and so sweet. And took a seat for himself. And had a habit of biting his leash (seen here).

Please Help Me Fight AIDS
Friends, Readers, Countrymen - Lend me your Wallets!
I am participating in AIDS Walk New York. My team the "Hairy Backs" (don't ask...I didn't name it...) and I are really excited to walk this year! I have set an ambitious fundraising goal and I need your help reaching it!
Some background:
AIDS Walk New York, the world’s largest single-day AIDS fundraising event, benefits GMHC and more than 40 other AIDS service organizations in the tri-state area. GMHC is the nation’s oldest and most comprehensive AIDS service organization, serving approximately 15,000 people living with HIV and AIDS each year. The organization reaches countless more locally and nationally, through its prevention and advocacy work.
Although there has been some success with drug treatments and their ability to prolong the lives of those living with HIV/AIDS, they do not work for everyone, nor are they accessible to everyone. These treatments can take their toll physically, mentally, and financially. I am also concerned by the alarming rate of new HIV infections in the New York City youth. There remains an urgent need for comprehensive prevention programs that serve youth with diverse language and cultural backgrounds. The money we raise at AIDS Walk New York will help those in need living with the disease while supporting vital prevention efforts in New York City and beyond.
Here's your part:
I would be so grateful your help. Please sponsor me for AIDS Walk New York. Just click on the link below to visit my personal fundraising web page. It’s quick, easy, and safe to make a donation online with a credit card, debit card, or PayPal.
(And by the way... GMHC, the primary beneficiary of AIDS Walk New York, is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) New York nonprofit corporation. Tax ID #13-3130146. All donations are tax deductible. )
After making your donation, you may be able to double your donation with a matching gift! Please consult your human resources department, or use the matching gift search engine on the AIDS Walk New York website, to find out if your company has a matching gift program!
Thank you for supporting AIDS Walk New York and for helping put an end to this epidemic. You can help me make a difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS.
Sincerely,
Lauren

Day 267: My awesome rubber band ball. (with a post-it note pad for size perspective), a photo by lalasappy on Flickr.
Every day at work, when the mail comes it has this rubber band around it. I didn't want to waste them, so I started saving them. After awhile, they were taking over my drawer. So I started making a rubber band ball. I rolled one up and started putting the other around it. Now...it's bigger than a post-it pad.

No really though, how fun is this? Obvi I'd want to do without a giant clip and have a faux-hawk that looks like just hair. I'm sorry, I just think it's too cool for school.
I will throw my hair up randomly to brush my teeth more often and hope for new inspiration.
Day 263: I made this waffle.

Whatever. It tasted great.

Shout-out to my fave Pittsburgh/BoCo Alum Ilana for an awesome night of theatre and Shake Shack!

Day 256: This is Hawaii Pig. He is saving up for my destination wedding that I can't plan for until I find someone crazy enough to marry me.
He's pretty much close to empty...I'm workin' on it.
Day 255: I hate having to put a hat on freshly cut hair!
I love haircuts! But haircuts and cold weather mean covering up the pretty haircut. Sad face.

Panera opened a block from the office. I could die of happiness. Now I can never leave this company.
Ok, that's not true.

Nobody Comments Here.
Seriously.
What's the deal? Are you all hiding the fact that you read my blog? Because let me tell you something....
There's a thing on this blog that counts pageviews. I can see how many views my blog has had in a day.
So where are you??? Who are you???
Just say hello, for goodness sake.
:)

Day 246: This is how I feel...
Day 246: This is how I feel..., a photo by lalasappy on Flickr.
A blank page. An empty book.
I am.
Thoughtless, wordless, forgotten.
No beginning or end.
Untouched.
With no direction.
With no pen or pencil to guide
An authorless storybook
No pictures inside.
Open, exposed
But with nothing to hide.
Lost, but there's nothing to find.
Unsure if I have enough ink to write
a story to fill the many, many pages
of nothing.

Rarely do I let books make me cry on the subway...I couldn't help it with this one.
